Greece’s museums are ready to welcome visitors after a long pause, but with restrictions in place, Culture & Sports Minister Lina Mendoni said during a fireside chat at the Delphi Economic Forum VI, based at Zappeion Hall in Athens, on Wednesday, ANA reports.
The minister was speaking ahead of Greece’s official reopening of tourism on May 15. The National Gallery, along with most museums nationwide, will open to the public on May 14, she noted, while the Museum of Modern Greek Culture in Plaka will open in June.
Mendoni said that 650 million euros were allocated to the Greek culture ministry of the Recovery Rund, and it will be equally distributed to both antiquities and modern cultural projects.
